Rainy Days In Houston

Another WET day in Houston...one PLUS is that the temperatures are lower!

Let's see....my customers are amazed and surprised that I actually ventured out into the rain.

It is a good thing, they feel "Special" ..because they are!

Then I got to come home early, because facing Drive Home Traffic did not seem like a lot of fun.

Therefore, I can come home early and work from the home office! BONUS!!

That's all for now...

BRAVEHEART from Clean Films W/ Stephany

This afternoon Stephany and I watch BRAVEHEART together. THe DVD was from Clean Films so a lot of the gore was edited, which was OK with Steph and OK with me too.

There were a few parts where I spotted Wallace's Aid de Campe unique MANLY FACIAL EXPRESSIONS and had the honor of 'splaining them to Steph.

IE: The Princess of Wales is coming to meet with Wallace and the Aid de Campe FLASHES A "LOOK"   @ Wallace. The "LOOK" in this case was...Hey Nice Lady, Bravo William"...all this was completely non verbal.

Then a the end of the movie when Robert the Bruce realizes that he is about to repeat history and play into England's hands again...he decides to :DO THE RIGHT THING!

Then my buddy the Aide de Camp ( Who Looks Like my dear friend  Brian Calwell, Big Arms, Big Heart, Great Attitude, a man you ask you to join you in battle, and he beats you to the front lines!) He Grabs his sword and throws it high in the air and it sticks into the ground.

I glanced @ Steph and said..."SHOW TIME"...

THEN THE ENTIRE SCOTTISH AND ONE INSANE IRISHMAN, ROAR AND RACE TOWARDS THE ENGLISH SOLDIERS, AND WIN THIER FREEDOM!

THIS IS THE PART WHERE I AM ONCE AGAIN REMINDED OF THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MEN AND WOMEN.

THE MEN WENT FROM STANDING THERE COOL CALM AND COLLECTED...INTO ROARING & RAGING ATTACK MODE IN ABOUT 15 SECONDS.

If ya need more details, all ya gotta do is call me, I'll be pleased to 'splain it.

Men's Night @ The Movies

On Friday night we had "Men's Night @ the Movies @ the building that we have church at.

Pat Whipple put together some GREAT AND WONDERFUL Burgers, a mix of venisom and beef and cheese and other good stuff, prepared on a real charcoal grille.

OINK!

Then we watched City Slickers, an appropirate movie to show us what our burgers were like before they hit the grille.

Jack Palance was in the show, his charactor was the Leader of the Cattle Drive.

Jack was OUTSTANDING! He had the roughness of a man living in the outdoors and had a lot of experience with cattle and cowboys.

When some of the hired hands got "Stupid"...Jack had a variety of ways to straighten them out!

YEEEEE HAWW!

Seeing what it was like reminded me of the reasons why I joined the Navy years ago.

  • You sleep in a real bunk with a mattress.
  • A real bathroom.
  • A place to sit down and eat.

'Course, the ship was loaded with fuel and ammo and missles and torpedosm so it was not a Cruise Ship.

However, it sure beat sleepin' in the dirt!

TIMES UP!

This entry has been eluding me for days....

The subject is my wristwatch that came to an untimely end on July 1st.

This was a birthday present from MANY Friends and family presented to me on my Fortieth Birthday, Eleven Years ago.

The watch is a Seiko, Day Date, Gold Watch.

Day Date is because What Day is This? is a frequent question that rolls through my mind.

The watch has been to the repair shop once and has been a faithful friend through the years, and I was even contemplating a new one for my 55th birthday (in four years).

SO, my beloved Kathy and I discussed the way to find a replacement, four years early, since Kathy is very E BAY savvy, she was able to locate, qualify the seller, and make the purchase in less than one hour. Kathy looked over at me and said, "Babe, you don't ask for much...however when you do...it is usually BIG."

The nice UPS man may have the new watch here by Monday.

My heart is ticking for my new watch!

Hugs,

George

Superman and Pirates of the Caribean Two..With Jake!

What a weekend!

Jake asked me if I would be interested in seeing Pirates of the Caribean 2 on Saturday night.

OF COURSE! Hang time with my son! Yeah Baby!!

So we went to the AMC Gulfpointe 30 to catch the 8:30 PM show...we got the tickets @ 8:05 PM and the line was estimated @ 300 people!

Jake was not enthused and I was still thinking..."Hey! I'm getting some time with my son, I can be flexible. So, he said that we can "swap" the tickets for Sunday afternoon and avoid the major league line...I readily concurred.

The nice lady @ Guest Services did the switch, no fuss no cuss no problem, see ya on Sunday! Pretty Cool!!

On the way back to the car, Jake asked if I was up to see Superman...so we did an about face, he purchased the tickets and we saw the Superman Returns movie.

I like to see some of the shows twice, this way I can catch more of the details, attire, interaction, periphial stuff. IE: Lex Luthor is wearing Combat Boots...why is Lex wearing those?

The Pirates movie was pretty good too, it was interesting to see the different "bad guys" under the command of Davey Jones. The variety of sea creatures that were assimalated with the humans, CONCH Shells, Sharks, Mussells, Barnicales...true Disney Imagineering was incorporated.

That is the latest scoop, to all ya'll!
